INDOT urges drivers to prepare for first significant snow

The Indiana Department of Transportation is focusing attention on what is likely the first statewide winter storm of the season, and is asking motorists to do the same.

INDOT’s salt domes and barns are stocked and ready, but motorists will need to dust off winter driving habits following last year’s mild winter. Motorists are asked to promote their own safety and that of others by reducing their speed according to road conditions and increasing the distance between themselves and other vehicles, especially INDOT’s yellow plow trucks.

A traffic alert for drivers near the Ford Center Tuesday morning.  

Several EVSC students will be at the Icemen Hockey game for an Education Day.

Drivers should watch for school busses, and expect some possible road blocks for busses to park.

The route to US 41 via Riverside Drive is shut down--and will be this weekend too--as ShrinersFest begins.

A car and motorcycle show are taking place as part of the kickoff weekend.  You can read about all of it here.

The Vanderburgh County Highway Department says Waterworks  Rd. from  LST Dr. to Highway 41 is closed again today from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. for debris removal.

Drivers should use an alternate route.

The Vanderburgh County Highway Department says Waterworks  Rd. from  LST Dr. to Highway 41. will be closed today, May 16 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. for debris removal.

City, county launch 2012 pothole blitz

City, county launch 2012 pothole blitz

The City of Evansville and Vanderburgh County are conducting a joint Pothole Blitz to identify roads in the city and county in need of repair. 

The public is asked to report potholes today, April 2, through Thursday, April 5, by calling the Evansville Department of Transportation at 435-6000 or the Vanderburgh County Highway Garage at 435-5777 between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Pothole repairs will begin on Monday, April 8, and the work will continue through Friday, April 13.
