SNAP now welcomed at downtown farmer's market | Shopping & Services
The Vanderburgh County Farm Bureau's Farmers Market has been certified by the USDA to accept SNAP Customers. The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program allows the Local Growers to offer their produce through this program that is funded by the USDA.
The Market located at Sycamore and Second Streets in Downtown Evansville and is open from 8 AM to 1 PM each Friday now thru September.
The market’s new food vendor area offers made to order wood fire pizza, soft shell breakfast and lunch tacos, shaved ice drinks, juice drinks made from fresh vegetables and fruits , and freshly brewed flavored coffees.
All produce sold at this Market is locally grown in a 75 mile radius of Evansville.
This Friday, Deaconess Health Center will be giving away shopping bags, recipes and health tips.
Vendors products include local grown produce with new crops being added each week, handmade soaps, fresh cut flowers, fresh baked goods, pet treats, kettle korn, elephant ear plants, meats, eggs, jellies and jams, seasoned cooking oils,and BBQ sauce. New crops featured this week are sweet corn, cabbage, tomatoes, and peaches.
