"Youth Talkin' Trash"

EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE)- The "Youth Talkin' Trash" event will occur one week from this Saturday.  It will take place on April 27th, rain or shine.

The event is part of the 25th Annual Global Youth Service Day.  Approximately 500 students are already signed up but organizers are hoping for even more students to join in.

The terror in Boston has local officials looking at security for Tri-State events.  

Friday night, the Ford Center will be hosting a Brit Floyd concert and the popular Guns and Hoses Boxing Tournament on Saturday.

EPD says man robbed at gunpoint

EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE)- Police say an Evansville man was robbed at gunpoint overnight.

It happened around midnight on Marshall Avenue.

EPD says when the victim and his friends got out of the car, police say two men ran up to them and put a gun to one their heads, demanding money.

Police describe the suspects as black males, wearing white shirts, grey pants and sock hats.

EPD says the victim's friend also had his wallet stolen.  

A K-9 unit was called to the scene, but didn't find anything.

EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE)- Evansville Police have identified the suspect in an attack on a 67-year-old Evansville man.

The attack happened just after midnight on Sunday morning near Madison and Evans.

Police believe 19-year-old Raheem Rashaun Forest tried to rob the man and then beat him.

The victim was seriously injured and was taken to a local hospital.

Forest is wanted on Robbery and Felony Battery charges.

Anyone with information on his location is asked to call EPD at 436-7979 or 911.

Central Library will have a delayed opening on Tuesday, April 16 due to the installation of a replacement compressor on the building’s roof.  The Library will open at 1:00 p.m.

All other EVPL locations will operate as normal.  Customers can also access eBooks and other downloadable material and information online anytime at evpl.org. 

Traffic Alert: Ramp closed Monday at major intersection

EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE)- The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) is advising motorists on Monday, April 15, the exit ramp from U.S. 41 north bound to Interstate 164 east bound will be closed.

INDOT crews will be cleaning the bridge deck and flushing drainage structures as a part of their annual maintenance activities. 

The ramp will close at 7:30 a.m. local time and re-open to traffic by 1:00 p.m.  Inclement weather may cause the restriction dates and times to be delayed.
