Invisible state lines on Ohio River cause confusing boating laws

It's the eve of Memorial Day weekend and many of you will be letting loose on the river.

But if you're planning on drinking, there are some public intoxication laws that may surprise you. The weather is shaping up to make a nice Memorial Day weekend, and that means the Ohio River will be full of people on their boats.

DNR will be checking for three main things: making sure each boat has life jackets, that the boat is registered and that the drivers aren't drunk.

Since there are no lanes on the river, officers will be checking for unnecessary behavior like getting up close to another boat too fast and causing a large wake.
