Shively to be sworn in as judge March 1 | News
Leslie C. Shively will officially take the bench as a Vanderburgh Superior Court Judge, March 1. A swearing in and robing ceremony, sponsored by the Evansville Bar Association, will take place in his honor at noon that day in the Randall T. Shepard Court Room at the Vanderburgh County Old Courthouse.
Shively will be sworn in by former Chief Justice Randall T. Shepard and robed by Vanderburgh Superior Court Chief Judge Wayne Trockman. The public is invited to the ceremony.
A reception will follow immediately thereafter.
Prior to his appointment, Shively was in private practice for more than 32 years and served on the Indiana Board of Law Examiners and as a hearing officer in attorney disciplinary proceedings for over a decade.
He is a former IU Trustee and currently a state trustee for IVY Tech Community College. Shively was appointed to the bench by outgoing Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels to fill the seat left vacant by Judge David Kiely, who was elected to the Vanderburgh Circuit Court in the November 6, 2012 election.
