EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE)-
The ERC voted 3-1 to approve the design plans for the outside of the hotel that will become a new Comfort Inn and Suites.
The owner of the property said he took considerations from the design review committee and changed the window color and some of the building material to make it fit in more with the historic district it is adjacent to.
ERC Board President Ed Hafer says he's not worried about this hotel going up interferring with the convention hotel downtown.
The owner still has to come back and get landscape plans approved by the ERC, but he is now free to search for a contractor.
