The event organized by Network Building Concepts, is an opportunity for community, business and local non-profit organizations to come together and get to know and support each other. Event organizers Lori Albertson and Dorothy Pergola have been surprised with the response.

Coat a Kid campaign brings in 9,000 coats

Don’s Claytons Fine Drycleaning , the Salvation Army and Evansville Christian Life Center report the tri-state donated a record 9,000 coats to this year’s annual Coat-A-Kid drive – and they’re thanking the community for their generous giving.

“The need in this area was greater than we’ve seen before, but there were enough coats this year to fill every request,”  Don’s Claytons owner Steve Schmitt says. “Last year we ran out of coats before we ran out of kids who needed them. So we were happy to have enough this year – and want to thank everybody who donated."

One week left in Easter Seals car raffle

With exactly one week left until Easter Seals’ scheduled raffle* drawing, just over half of the original 3,000 tickets have been sold for the “Cool Car, Cold Cash” Contest.

As of Thursday, approximately 1,776 tickets have been purchased and 1,224 are still available. Last year, over 2,670 tickets were sold, and this year’s goal is to surpass that total before the drawing, which is scheduled for noon on March 1. The funds raised are extremely important to the mission of the Easter Seals Rehabilitation Center, because all ticket sales underwrite therapy sessions for local children and adults with disabilities.

“Cool Car, Cold Cash” offers the grand prize winner a new 2012 Dodge Challenger SXT (valued at $29,820) donated by Larry Bennett’s Audubon Chrysler Center. The contest will also award one second prize of $5,000 and one third prize of $1,000.

Tickets are $50 each OR 3 for $100. They are available until March 1 at noon at:
