Volunteers needed for LST 325 Work Week | Community Spirit
The LST 325 is looking for a few good men and women to help with some spring cleaning. The warship's annual Work Week is less than a month away, scheduled for April 15-22.
Last year, volunteers from about 20 states helped with things like painting and work on ballast tanks at the bottom of the ship.
Volunteers typically stay on board the ship all week long. The day starts with breakfast at 7am and work begins around 8 a.m.
Volunteers do have to sign up in advance and must be members of the LST Memorial to be eligible to participate. Memorial membership starts at $20 a year. Membership and volunteer forms can be found through the LST 325's website, http://lstmemorial.org/. You can also sign up to volunteer by stopping by the ship's office.
The LST 325 arrived back in Evansville a week and a half ago after spending several months in dry dock in Texas. While in dry dock, the ship underwent much-needed repairs and improvements.
