One of our region’s most highly regarded art collectors, Kenneth Drew, shares selected works from his broad collection of 19th – 20th century figurative sculpture. THE COLLECTOR’S EYE: BRONZES FROM THE COLLECTION OF KENNETH DREW features American and French bronze sculptures.
Included in the exhibition is the 1895 bronze Venus and Adonis by celebrated American artist Frederick MacMonnies (1863-1937), the 1867 bronze Young Hermes by French artist Pierre Marius Montagne (1828-1879), and the bronze Diana by the French artist Pierre Le Faguays (1892-1935), among others.
These sculptures are on display through April 21 in the newly dedicated John Streetman Alcove. This gallery on the second floor of the Museum was dedicated on January 18 in honor of John Streetman, Director of the Evansville Museum for nearly 38 years. This exhibition is presented in partnership with the William C. H. Grimm and Phyllis R. Grimm Charitable Trust.
